2011 Spring Series – Queen Anne’s Lace Spring Observations/Spring Wildflower

This was the only Queen Anne’s Lace we could find and luckily I knew where it was or we would have missed it :) It is the dead thing in the foreground. Wingnut was more impressed with the blue flowers.

We saw some beautiful tulips starting to bloom.

Our loot from our walk.

These are the blue flowers, I had thought that they were called bluebells but when I googled it I was wrong. If anyone knows what these are called, please let me know :)

Wingnut drawing his Queen Anne’s Lace.

His spring observations, the blue flower and dandelions.

The rest is pictures of what Queen Anne’s Lace looks like right now.

I love those little blue ones too. A friend told me a while ago that those are called grape hyacinth.

Here in Alabama you don’t see Queen Anne’s lace until summer. Wingnut is a good artist! He really captured the shapes of the flowers.

  3. Nice signs of spring walk. Love Wingnuts’ drawings. Thank you for sharing.

  4. Welcome to the OHC! I love that you went out and found a spot to observe your Queen Anne’s Lace…now later in the season and during the summer you will know just where to look.

I love grape hyacinths and they are so pretty with the dandelions. :)

Thanks for sharing your link with the OHC.

  5. Oh I love Grape Hyacinth. They are just so small and there is so much detail in them and I love the color. What a nice walk you had. Emily
