Once ‘Round the Country

This is the amazing center block I got to start out with for Robin’s quilt! It is truly as stunning in person as it is in this photo. I am always amazed at the quality of work she does. Everything is always perfect, from the piecing to how all the seams are ironed in back. It made it a little intimidating at first, lol.

I really did not want to take the eye away from the center block quite yet, so I tried to mimic some of the existing lines and make the eye slowly move outward.

Here is what I will be sending off to Hermione J Schwartz.

Holy cow. That is so freakin’ cool!!! Beautiful, Zonnah. Just beautiful. And so effective. You’ve created a lot of interest, but at the same time have really kept the center as the focus. And I love how you really took advantage of the prints in your design.

Who knew that round robins could be so exciting?! :)

Oh, wow, oh, wow! That is just SO beautiful and perfect. I would have never thought to do it that way, but it is amazing, fantastic, gorgeous, etc. I’m nervous now!

I love how you did the border!! It’s a perfect extension and I love that you can’t really tell what is “border” and what is the original center block. I’ve been struggling with what to do with the block I have right now and you’ve definitely got me thinking in new ways.

I think Robin likes it, it is fabulous!!!

  5. Seriously, all you two are doing is making me look bad. ;)

    It looks amazing!
