Sun

I am so happy to be having a little bit of sun lately. As I am getting older the lack of vitamin D from the sun is really starting to affect me. Not good for living in Washington. Oh and please excuse the dirty windows. The rain always gets blown onto the windows on this side of the house.

  1. I know a good window washer ;) When the sun comes out it makes me so happy when the windows are clean. I was trying some liquid vitamin D from Costco. It’s at home in the fridge so I’m not sure if it helps in the winter.

  2. I did not know it cam in liquid form I will have to check that out.

Love your rows of pretty crystals in the window! How fun, I’ve always wanted to do that.

Last time I had my labs done my vitamin D levels were extremely low. The doctor said anyone living north of san francisco needs to take vitamin D. He was kidding but it really is important for women. he said just 1000 mg a day will do the trick.

  5. I take little D3 capsules that contain 5,000 IU’s. Handy!

Have your son throw snowballs on the window gently and rub them around. He’ll laugh and your windows will be clean. :)

I’d be enjoying the sun more if only that danged snow would go away! :P

  8. Ok bought some vitamin D today!
@marie I wish he could reach my window.

I wish I could send you some sun. Glad you got the Vit. D because my husband was tested for it and he was really low. He works indoors and under fluorescent light bulbs. Did you know that fluorescent bulbs can cause Vit. D deficiency? I have a stockpile of incandescents to use after the ban goes into effect because the warm light looks so much more like sun.

I also suffer with the lack of sun in the winter. I didn’t even know it would happen to me until I moved to Western NY with all the lake-effect snow and clouds. I grew up in MN so it was a bit of a surprise when the winter blues hit every fall.
