I had my first canning experiance ever and made strawberry jam. It turned out really good but slightly on the soft side. I read this could happen if you doubled a recipe. So next time I am not going to do that.

  1. if you want to do less sugar don’t worry about it not setting, it still will! I never use all the sugar on anything and it always works perfectly. Less white sugar and more fruit for our little guys.

    I don’t think my mom even use sugar in her jam recipes. Now they don’t look as pretty but they still taste great.

  4. I will have to try some with less sugar. I made some peach butter and it turned out great!
