Toddler Tuesday – 36 Months

My little guy will be officially three this month! Where has the time gone? Toddler Tuesday also has a Montessori Monday for three year olds and up but I think I will be keeping wingnut in the toddler section until his speech improves. I think he understands everything but at the same time I never really know. Anyhoo, this is what we did this week.

I gave the presentation….

And this was after!

We did some pink tower work.

To convince him to build it right, I told him he could take a picture of it when he was done. So this pic is taken by wingnut.

Some pink and brown work.

We did some walk the line until he decided he did not want to do it.

He got into my stuff and made his own practical life work.

He now cuts his own bread.

He worked on a puzzle.

And a pouring exercise.

Oh and a potty training update. We are nowhere near being done. We have been working on it for a year in June and he is so feisty he will only do it when he feels like it. So we will get a good stretch where all the pee is in the potty and then he reverts back to none. And poo, well lets just not talk about that. I swear he will be four before he is potty trained!!!!

Cool stuff. My youngest will be three in 2 months and my husband and I were just talking this morning about how behind his speach seems. He does say a lot of words, but much of his speach is garbled (seems like mostly vowel sounds). I had his hearing tested and its fine. Is Wingnut just taking his time or do you have an insider scoop on reasons for this?

Oh, yes, and my youngest I’m sure will be 4 before he’s potty trained too. He does NOT want to do it.
So good to see someone else going through the same kid stuff! :)

Don’t sweat the potty training. It sounds like you’re doing the right thing and letting him take the lead. I know there can be a lot of pressure to potty train, but it will only happen when they’re ready. I haven’t even started with Pita Pocket at all because he just has no interest. Short Pants *refused* to even try to potty on the toilet until his 3rd birthday, after which he trained in a single day.

Beeper didn’t potty train until he was four. We tried a couple of times before that and it was just one accident after another. Like the others said, when he was ready, it was so easy.
