Open Ended Art – April 19th

The idea for next week will be Magic Snowflakes. I got the idea here. Check it out for inspiration.

This week we painted on cardboard and then removed the tape afterwards. Wingnut loved this one and made me hang it up when he was done.

I love how paint has texture.

I am so excited because wingnut is starting to take his own initiative and add things to his art without me guiding him. You can see in this picture he used some crayons which was not part of the idea ;)

  1. Very cool idea! I know my kids will love doing this twist to their paintings. I added your website to my blog reading list ! I need to go through older post though and catch up. :)

That is a cool idea! I need to try and get the paints out again and see what my boy does. :)

  3. So I did this with 7 kids under the age 6, on Friday. They loved it. It was so funny to see how each kid reacted to it. One did NOT like what happened when we took the tape off (she’s a very smart 3 yr. old) and so she painted in those areas. One put so much paint on that we couldn’t even find the tape and she didn’t want to try to find it cause it would mess up her swirls. The rest thought it was awesome, including my 2yr old. Just like yours, he really wanted me to hang it up on the wall, so we did!
