Toddler Tuesday – 35 Months

This was a slow week. He did do some Montessori activities but I did not get a picture of them. These activities included the color tablets, pink tower and sandpaper globe. Some non Montessori activities were the geoboard, maze workbook and his color fishing game.

He is getting a lot closer to pointing out red, blue and yellow now. Very exciting. I really think the fishing game helped because he loves it. We modified the color tablets so instead of him matching them on the mat. I hold up one tablet and tell him to find that certain color. Then he has to go find the matching tablet and bring it back to me. This works a lot better for us because he is moving. My little guy needs to move.

He picked the sandpaper globe this week and he knows which areas are land and which are water. I also made some land water and air cards. I show him one and he has to point to on the globe where it is. So if it is a picture of a river he has to point to the blue part on the globe. The air part is giving him trouble because it is invisible. I am really impressed with how quick he picked this up.

The best part of the week was he learned how to sign mommy! He may not actually say the word yet but this is just as good. I am still patiently waiting for him to say mommy and I just might cry when he does.

We also had a mother son day. We first went to Chuck-e-cheese then to the movies to see how to tame a dragon. After the movie we stopped at a cafe and I got coffee and he got juice. Then we headed to the park to go for a walk. He had a blast and so did I!

I was really surprised how well he did at the cafe! He actually sat down.

I love this park.

He loved running away from me.

Notice the shoes. This kid is so active he put holes in both of his shoes. I need to go shoe shopping.

I love your no pressure approach to everything.

Sounds like an awesome day! :) That looks like an awesome park. I haven’t been brave enough to try and take my boy to a movie yet… maybe because Finding Nemo is so traumatic for him that he hides in the kitchen whenever something scary is about to happen (every 5 minutes or so, it seems)!

Love the idea for adding movement to the color tablet lesson. I’ll have to remember that one to use with Pita Pocket. Great outdoor pics too! Thanks for participating in Toddler Tuesday. :)
