Outside : 3

I am going to have a garden this year! So for today’s outside project I marked where my garden will be and enjoyed the wonders of the earth. The garden will mainly be for wingnut sake. I think he will love it! Oh and this is one of the rare pictures of my dog. It is hard to get good pictures of her.

  1. I actually went outside and worked in the yard a bit this afternoon. I would like to call it Spring clean-up, but it was more like Fall clean-up that never got done in the Fall. My children loved helping in the garden when they were young. I still remember my daughter walking through the garden — barefoot and with a dirty face — eating tomatoes right off the vine. They called working in the yard, “dirt’n” because they often played/worked in the dirt beside my husband or I. I still remember, “Mom — I want to go “dirt’n with Dad!” Smile

He will love the garden, I’m sure of it! How lovely that you were able to spend some time with your hands in the dirt today … I wish I was there! :-) . I think some urban gardens and teaching gardens have plants that smell good or have fun textures, specifically for younger visitors. I’ll bet there are some good suggestions out there if that sounds like something Wingnut would like :-) .

How wonderful!!! I hear that gardens and kids are an awesomely fun combo. :) Sigh… I’m also a little jealous as we don’t have any yard to do something like that. But, at least we can look at the trees. :)
