Toddler Tuesday – 32 months

Toddler Tuesday is brought to you from One Hook Wonder. Go there to see others :)

Impromptu paint squirting.

Putting pasta in a slot.

Trying to get him to finger paint with pudding and failed. He does not like his hands dirty so I gave him a fork. All, the finger painting was done by me because I wanted to show him what would happen when we removed the circles. He ended up really liking that.

Cutting.

Cooking quesadillas.

Before bed he decided he wanted to use the pink tower. I know some people frown on using the materials in unintended ways but really what he was doing was self correcting. If he did not have the blocks right his car would not go downhill all by itself. (notice all the chips, they are well used :) )

About using the pink tower and NOT using it as intended. It shows that he has great creativity – to think out of the box.

My 6yo niece and 7yo nephew, both uses Richard Scary’s Big Word book to discover what color is made by combining two/more colors.

That is what I love about homeschooling is that learning is authentic and children can explore materials in their own way. My son does a better job spooning muffin batter in a tin without spills then me! Quesadillas are a favorite here too! Little Hiker still loves to put things through holes in containers!

I love the use of the pink tower too! And everytime I read your blog it reminds me to get my kiddos in the kitchen with me more – thanks!
