Open Ended Art – Henri Matisse

This weeks open ended art at Mommies Wise Little Bookwormswas the artist Henri Matisse. I thought we would do a collage and maybe do some cutting since he has learned to use the scissors. But, Wingnut was not interested in doing art this week.

He did glue down one piece that I cut to try to get him going. I was actually really impressed because this is the first time he has glued correctly. After that it quickly went down hill. Notice the Hershey Kiss.

Now it is gone and some squares are scattered but not glued.

Then he moved on to playing with his toy that sings to him.

Right after that he did pick up the glue again…..to try to glue mommy.

That was quickly the end of open ended art for the day :)

HA! This is too cute–priceless:-). Love your commentary. You win some, you lose some. I lost this week too–my kids’ pics are also unfinished. This mommy has no energy to make them finish them either!

Yea, there are times my kidlet isn’t interested when I am hoping to get it done either. I think I had to present the fall colors open ended art about 3 times before he was finally inspired ;) I’m sure it would have been worse when he was younger too: much less focused!

Still, his one piece collage is not bad. It’s like .. some kind of minimalist modern art collage, right?! =)

LOL on Wingnut’s enthusiasm for Matisse. I haven’t tried mine yet – usually open-ended collages are not terribly popular here :)

LOL! I can relate completely this week. Great gluing correctly accomplishment though!

That is so funny! You will have to print out your blog and have it bound in a book. It will be a priceless treasure for Wingnut some day!
