Open Ended Art – Yellow and Mixed Medium

This weeks open ended art at Teaching My Little Bookworm was Yellow and Mixed Medium. Well, I sort of failed in the planing for this week due to new events like getting a job. But my little painter chose to paint all by himself twice this week so I will share them.

The first thing he painted this week is this.

paint

No action shots because I did not have my camera near, but he found some black acrylic paint, marched over to his table, pulled out some paper, and proceeded to squirt it out. So I hurried up and found some yellow paint for him and a paint brush and he made the picture above.

Then a couple of days later he felt like painting and opened all the paint bottles I have set out for him. Yes, I am daring :) . He then put paint brushes in the paint bottles but realized that if you put one in upside down you can still paint with it.

I am starting to think his favorite color is green, he tends to pick it a lot.

Isn’t Teaching My Little Bookworm wonderful? I’m glad you liked the moon painting. I would seriously suggest using dark crayons or watercolor to make it easily seen.

Congrats on your job! Will it be a tough transition for you and your family?

How old is your little painter?

I love both pictures, and I like even more that both projects were entirely self-directed. He is learning from the pros :)

So great that he did these by himself! And they both look so good!

Yes, you are daring to give him all of those paints at once–good for you! I love the yellow and black!!

Looks like fun! I love the yellow and black!!!! I am trying to let my kiddos take over more, and not have me in the midst of it. How old was he when he started participating and not eating the paint?

my oldest fave color is Red and Bloe
