This weeks open ended art at Teaching My Little Bookworm was mixing. So, for mixing blue and yellow we attempted gluing blue and yellow tissue paper.

Supposedly when they are glued together they will mix and show green. But after watching wingnut and realizing it was not working, I did a little experiment of my own and found out that you need exactly one thin piece over the other for it to work.

Since wingnuts fine motors skill are not that advanced yet we had no mixing.

He was not so impressed with this one so he decided to put all the paint brushes in the glue

For mixing Red and yellow, I thought we would do a little pudding finger painting. I dyed some vanilla pudding yellow and red and plopped it down on the table expecting such a huge mess that he would have to take a bath afterwards.

LOL was I wrong on that. The only way he would touch it is with his tongue. The finger swirls in the pudding are mine trying to show him what to do.
