I’m cazy

I decided to make something for me to challenge myself and keep me from being bored while watching WingNut during the day. I can’t knit because he pulls the yarn takes the needles out and makes me get up every five minutes for something. But there is something I can do. Hand piece. Yes you heard right sew a quilt by hand. And not just any quilt, this quilt.

That’s right I am crazy, I know. I am not expecting to complete this for a couple years so I won’t feel rushed. Also I think this will be one of those things in my life I will never forget and will become a marker in my life. I found a site where you can join the group and help each other stay motivated to complete the quilt. The lady who runs it also picks two squares a week and shows everyone how to make it. The reason she shows you is because the book only has a drafted picture of the original block and does not include instructions. Oh and did I mention there are 255 different blocks in this quilt! I am going to start as soon as my book arrives, it should be any day now.

I decided on a color pattern for it using black, white, black and white, and any color from my stash of fabric . It is a little complicated to say how I am going to do it so I will make a diagram to explain soon.

    Hi Zonnah.

I don’t think you’re crazy at all. I’m hand-piecing my Sampler Quilt, too.

(Actually, I guess we’re both crazy, but it’ll be fun, yes?)

All the best with your blocks.

Welcome to the party! :) Your color scheme sounds like it’s going to be fantastic. You may be crazy– but you are definitely not alone. I’m hand piecing my blocks too!

Beautiful, I would like to see this one in real life also. Do you think it would be possible?
