3 Months

Wow what a difference a moth makes. I am now having time to do things I need to do or want to do. It is helping with my mental state, being able to do something for me and not just for wingNut. There has been a lot of changes some good some irritating. But the irritating looks to be getting better.

The irritating part is he used to sleep from bedtime 9:00pm to 6:00am which was extremely wonderful but then for the last week he has been waking up randomly throughout the night. Causing my husband and I to not get much sleep. Which results in me becoming extremely grumpy and I have no patience what so ever. Not a good combo. But last night he slept from 9:00pm to 6:30am. Looks like he might be getting back to his old schedule. I heard that this would happen when they have a growth spurt, which I think he did have because he looks bigger overnight. Also, he is starting to fit some of his 3 to 6 month clothes.

A new development is blowing bubbles. He absolutely loves doing this. He does it by pressing his lips together in a kiss like way and blowing. One time he spit up some thick white milk and did his blowing bubble trick, resulting in covering me with white specks all over the place. It was rater funny.

There are a few things that he seems to really like doing lately. One of them is watching tv. I know a lot of tv is not good so I only let him watch a little bit. But I sit him on my couch supported my the back cushions and he will sit the for 30 min just staring at the tv. Of course he has a preference on what to watch, right now he really likes monsters inc. Another thing he likes is going for walks. He never makes a pep when we go for our daily walks. Once again he just stars at the scenery. He also really enjoys standing up. I heard that I should help him strengthen his back and arm muscles first. I am doing that as well, but he always wants to stand the second his feet touch some sort of surface he instantly straightens up to stand. If he is grumpy and then I stand him up he becomes happy.

His hand eye coordination is really improving he grasps things and holds on to them now. But he gets frustrated when he can’t bring it up to his mouth. For instance we have a play mat with toys hanging from the top but if he can not bring it to his mouth cause it is attached he starts to get grumpy.

Speaking of grumpy he is a rather serious baby. He does not smile all that much unless prompted to. Where laughing is concerned you really have to work at getting him to laugh and what might work for 3 seconds will not work after that. I have found one thing he really likes to laugh at and that is me singing and bouncing my head around. For some reason he likes that.

Taking naps have been getting a bit easier. I have realized that once he has been up for one hour I must then put him down for a nap because he will stay awake for another 15 to 20 min falling asleep. Before I was waiting for about one and a half hours and then putting him down but by that time he was way overtired and would not fall asleep. Also, I have to switch up where he falls asleep. If I do the same place everyday he realizes it and fights even hard when falling asleep. If I alternate between his bouncer, cradle, rocking, and bouncing him, I then trick him and he falls asleep much faster. I got a smarty on my hands and need to stay one step ahead of him. This will be fun when he gets older.

For some reason he has started to hate his baths. He used to like them and not cry. Now he just cries and cries. So I started to have him take a shower with me. He still does not like that but at least the crying is not as much because I am holding him. By the way holding a wet baby is quite scary. I have to be extremely careful because he get very slippery.

One thing I have really enjoyed lately and has made me feel loved in a way is when he is nursing he constantly moves his had caressing my chest. Very similar to how a kitten kneads his paws when nursing. I don’t know why it make me feel good when he does that, but when he stops nursing I will miss it.
