I finally decided on my provider. I choose a midwife that was highly recommended. Today was my first appointment and it turned out really well. It ended up just being the nurse today because It was mainly filling out paper work and having things explained to us. They drew blood for the normal tests, and now I need to figure out if I should be tested to see if I am a Cystic Fibrosis Carrier, Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18. They said it was completely our decision. So I think I will see if my insurance will cover it and if it does get them done. The best part of the visit was when we got to hear the heart beat! It was steady and strong. Two weeks from now will be my next appointment with the midwife. They said on that visit they will do an ultrasound. That will be exciting, I can’t wait. So far I am 91/2 weeks along, but the ultrasound will tell us if that is accurate.
