Strategy

A list apart has a good article about strategy and designing a web page. It is called “Never Get Involved in a Land War in Asia (or Build a Website for No Reason)”. It mentioned that it is really important to have a strategy so that the site will be cohesive and consistent. So it gave an example on how to make a strategy statement and then analyze everything you do or put into your web page against it. This is my strategy:

To motivate… Zonnah.com readers

To want…to knit

Instead of… reading boring sites with not enough information

Because… knitting is fun and should be shown in a way to make people want to knit.

So hopefully what I have put into the site fits, and now everything I put into the site will need to fit as well. But I know that I will be adding a bit of personal posts about my life to break it up just a little. Because reading other blogs I realized that it is nice to know a little about the knitter as well. It help to understand why they did or choose certain things when knitting.
