Wedding

I had quite the weekend. The girl I used to baby sit got married Saturday. That thought made me feel really old. The wedding went off with out a hitch. Everyone thought the wedding was beautiful. When I get pictures I will post them. It is weird how you are never quite sure if everything that you planned it going to work out and look good, but it did. The colors, orange and red, worked out wonderfully.

There was one instance that made me feel really old. It was when a guy at the reception came up to me and asked, “Are you the maid of honor thing?”

“Yes,” I replied.

Then he introduced himself while Brittnay, the Bride, came up and joined the conversation.

“So are you guys best friends?” He asked.

Brittnay replied, “Well, more like sisters. We grew up together and She babysat me.”

The guy then looks at me in surprise and asks, “How old are you?”

I tell him, “I am 26 years old.”

“Would you like me to tell you how old I thought you were?”

“Sure”

“I thought you were 19 years old.” He then proceeds to turn around and leave without saying goodbye or nice to meet you.

So that was the crowning moment when I realized that I am no longer young but old.

On to another subject that makes me feel good is being all dressed up. I normally go for the natural look. Meaning no makeup and I am quite conservative in my cloths. Well, for the wedding that sure was not the case. Not only did the dress reveal more skin then I ever do, but my hair was done up and I was wearing so much makeup that I had people that have known me all my life not recognize me. It was nice to have a change for a little bit. The lady that did my makeup did a really good job. So, I studied the way she did my eye makeup so that I could repeat it on my own. I always thought that you just swipe on some color in big blocks going up to the brow. Well, I realized that it is a little more precise then that. It involves a whole lot of blending and making certain parts of the eye darker and others lighter to highlight the shape of your eyes. You can tell I don’t wear a lot of makeup from what I just said.

Also, The whole wedding party and close family got to ride in a hummer limo. Me and a couple of friends chipped in to get it for them, since they were just going to use their normal car. It was a surprise and they had no clue. They opened the door and there it was.

Congratulations Brit and Eli!
