We went down to Escondido California over the weekend so see my family. We left Wednesday night and got home Sunday afternoon. We drove down there non-stop. To get from where we are to there it takes nineteen hours. The weather was wonderful. I did not have to wear a sweater like I normally do. But my husband and my mom both could not handle the heat.

My family we went to see consisted of my great grandma, my grandma, and my uncle. All of the from my moms family. My grandma is 74 next month, and my great grandma is 91. This trip was defiantly worth going since it may be the last time I see my great grandma.

We went through old pictures. I was able to see a picture of my great great great grandma and grandpa. Very interesting. But one of the coolest things was a postcard album from my great great grandma. The postcards date from 1905 to about 1920. Most of them were from her cousin. What would be really interesting is if I could see the postcards my great great grandma sent.

My uncle is so much like my mom it is weird. They look similar, but they act exactly the same. Also, my uncle has some mannerisms like my dad. You know how people will say oh he married his mom or she married her dad. Well, I think my mom married her brother.

Did I mention I have not seen them for 24 years. I wish I could have went sooner when my great great grandmas memory was not completely gone. Also, I need to thank my husband for willingly and happily visiting my in-laws. You do not know how much that means to me.
