Last Month

Being without a computer for three months is hard to do. It has shown me how much I rely on a computer. How sad. My laptop finally gave up on me after five years, so my husband gave me his. This is very nice on his part. In return he upgraded his desktop. But there were a few little problems with his laptop that needed to be fixed; a loose power plug, earphone jack not working, and the rubber feet were missing. So we decided to send it in while we still had warranty. So I have been waiting for it to come back, which was last week. This post is long to catch up on everything I did in the last month.

I will start with my first 3 ply hand spun yarn. I really enjoy doing this and I am happy that I am not all that terrible at it. Here is the yarn that I spun.

These pictures are of the hat I made for my husband out of my first yarn. It took me a couple hours to make. Which was a nice relief from the baby blankets that I have been making. They take soooooo long!

Some of my friends invited me to go to the cherry blossom festival. This was very interesting, I learned a bit about the Japanese culture. What amazed me the most was Japanese carpentry. If I had the money I would build my house like that. I met a friend of the friend that invited me. She was Japanese and spoke the language. After the festival we went to a Japanese store and bought candy without knowing what it was because we could not read the containers. I also realized that they use yogurt in a lot of there candy. Which was really good. Then we went to a authentic Japanese restaurant and had raman. It was really good.

The most resent adventure was our camping trip over the weekend. We went to eastern Washington where it was 90 degrees out. And yes I did get a sunburn but not intentionally. I had every intention of putting sun block on but I got interrupted. You see we did not camp at a campground we just drove in the mountains looking for a nice spot to camp. Well, we found one about a half of a mile from where the truck was parked. After finding the spot we went back to the truck to have me put my sunscreen on. But then a whole bunch of trucks pulled up. We did not want them to take out spot so I stopped what I was doing and started to help my husband carry our stuff to the site. So by the time we were done moving everything I was burnt. Overall the trip was really nice. We saw a lightening storm just over the ridge, so it missed us. But it sure was an amazing site. Following the storm was a double rainbow. The other eventful thing was my dog Zoey getting scared out of her wits. We never figured out what scared her. Poor thing was shacking uncontrollably.

I have a couple more pictures to share. So maybe within the next week I will post them. Some are the ones stuck on my old laptop and am waiting to get them off, the others are ones I took this morning.
